These photographs follow in a long line of those who have used a substitute
likeness for men and women in their artwork. I've used 12"
action figures in constructed scenarios to form a meditation about the
uncomfortable subject of death.

This project has been produced using a digital camera not for the
advantages offered by Photoshop or other like software, but for the
absolute control that the digital image affords the studio
photographer. With the ability to see what I’ve just photographed, I’ve
been able to make minute changes in pose, lighting, and overall
composition and design. This would never had been possible for me to
accomplish using film-based photography. As a result, these are for the
most part unretouched, unmanipulated photographs.

These images are part of a continuing series called "Tableau Vivant".
They are available as 20" x 30" inkjet prints.
